We’ve seen a lot of challenging situations over the last twenty-odd years. In fact, we pride ourselves on understanding and overcoming practically any challenge the ag industry throws at us. A while ago, it threw a curveball.

We’re used to solving for a number of different factors: soil composition, weather patterns, the needs of different crops. Chicken manure is usually not one of the things we need to consider. That changed when Southeast Farm Equipment Company called.

Some of their poultry-farming customers had a unique challenge: they needed to get into their poultry houses to clear manure and debris, but stock tractors were too tall to clear the height of the doors.

We had to get those tractors into the poultry houses without negatively affecting the four-wheel drive. That meant keeping the ratios from the front tires equal to the rear tires, while lowering the tractor height to give them the clearance they needed.

Our solution? Put a 29x12.50x15 Goodyear assembly on the front and a 16.5L-16.1SL Titan assembly on the rear. With low-pressure floaters, we were able to reduce a tractor’s height while keeping the footprint of all four tires wide enough that slippage wasn’t an issue.
